It is envisaged that these units could house some 30 to 40 businesses. Construction is currently underway and the proposed units will be ready for occupation from December 05 onwards and to date five of the proposed eight units are agreed. Outline planning permission currently exists for a further 110,000sqft and this is proposed as part of phase 3 expansion plans.
The Linen Green’s retail capacity, which provides for internationally renowned Irish designers including Paul Costelloe, Helen McAlinden and Ulster Weavers, is complemented by a visitors’ centre and 60-seater restaurant.
Serving a cross-border catchment area, the Linen Green’s Moygashel base has historically been seen as the centre of Northern Ireland’s linen industry, and the retail village has become a popular tourist attraction since it first opened its doors
“The Linen Green is taking the production and retailing of linen in the area into the 21st century.
“The centre has already become a major tourist attraction and the planning permission for the second phase proves what a success it has become.
“With Belfast only 45 minutes away, Dublin two hours away and more than one and a half million people living within an hour’s drive, the Linen Green is set to capitalise on its initial success and continue to prosper.”
